Edmond Town Hall Theatre has launched a new initiative to make it possible for patrons to send special messages to their loved ones on the big screen at 45 Main Street. This initiative will include three love-themed movies and revised viewing times on Valentine’s Day weekend to complement popular dinner reservation times.

Big Screen Valentines will allow patrons to customize not only the words in their message, but also the look, by selecting one of three available designs. During the first two weekends in February, the Big Screen Valentines will be featured on the screen for the first 30 minutes before the start of each movie. The messages can be ordered online for $25 by going to edmondtownhall.org.

Edmond Town Hall Managers Chair Jennifer Guman says the new offering is “a great way to engage the community while providing support for Edmond Town Hall.

“These Valentines can be used by partners, children, family members, and friends. The special messages can mean so much to loved ones and the support from the community means a lot to us,” she noted.

Licorice Pizza, an award-winning coming of age love story set in 1973 and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, will be featured during the first weekend in February. The film has been named one of the best films of 2021 by the American Film Institute and received four nominations at the 79th Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture-Musical or Comedy.

The drama/comedy features Alana Haim, Cooper Hoffman, and Sean Penn, among others. It has a running time of 2 hours 13 minutes and is rated R.

Screenings are planned for Friday through Sunday, February 4-6, at 1 and 7 pm each day.

Valentine’s Day weekend will feature classic love and romance with Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, released in 2021 and co-starring Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler, and the nostalgic Sleepless in Seattle, released in 1993 and featuring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

The updated musical romance is rated PG-13 and has a running time of 2 hours, 36 minutes.

Screenings of West Side Story are planned for Thursday, February 10, at 7 pm; and Friday and Saturday, February 10-11, at 4 and 8 pm each day.

Sleepless in Seattle — rated PG and with a running time of 1 hour 45 minutes — will be screened Friday and Saturday, February 11-12, at 1 pm.

There are no movies planned for Super Bowl Sunday, February 13.

Tickets for all shows are $3.50 each and can be reserved in advance through edmondtownhall.org. Tickets are also sold from the theater’s box office prior to each screening.

Patrons are encouraged to check the website for the building’s latest COVID-19 precautions.

Ahead of the Valentine’s Day season specials, Edmond Town Hall Theatre this weekend has movie screenings planned.

House of Gucci, released in November and featuring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, et al, is scheduled for Friday and Sunday, January 28 and 30. The crime-drama has a running time of 2 hours 38 minutes and is rated R. Tickets for Friday’s matinee are $2.50 for senior citizens; all other tickets are $3.50.

The Alpaca Gnomes were scheduled to fill the theater with their rock-folk jam band sounds on Saturday, January 29. That show has been postponed due to expected inclement weather. A new date is TBA, and tickets from this weekend will be honored.
