‘Doors Of Discovery’ Always Open At C.H. Booth Library
To the Editor:
I received a lovely handwritten thank-you note for a recent donation as part of the library annual end of year giving. It was a small show of appreciation for the library’s dedication to making sure all town residents have access to resources, especially during this very difficult past year.
I used Bibliomation and the amazing selection of online books all through the darkest days of 2020 and early 2021. I knew I could count on access to books when the physical library had to close.
Although I am fully vaccinated I continue to wear a mask into the library, in consideration of all the staff members who do their utmost to provide services day in, day out. It’s the least I can do to show respect for those who keep the doors open to discovery.
I’ll end with the sweet message in the note.
“The C. H. Booth Library is yours: for reading, gathering, learning. We’re not a destination, we’re a beginning.”
Indeed it is.
Thanks to those who make the library a true gem of Newtown.
Sincerely,
Geraldine Carley
