Brooke Hadgraft

Hadgraft is a defender on Newtown High School’s junior varsity field hockey team.

Favorite part about playing: “Getting to know everyone on the team. I’ve looked up to my sister since she was playing in high school and want to be like her,” she said of sister Amanda Hadgraft, who coaches the varsity team.

Toughest aspect: “If the ball gets past you — you have to hustle back to it and there’s no time for resting, so you have to make sure your energy level is very high.”

When she’s not on the field: Plays basketball and is involved in school clubs, including Student Council and Future Teachers of America.

Favorite subject: Math.

Dream job: Teacher.
