To the Editor,

One of the privileges in living in this country is the opportunity to express yourself and the freedom to vote for those who hold similar values to what you hold.

Thank you to those who expressed those opportunities and freedoms in this past election.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all our neighbors and friends who chose to step up to the plate, throw their hats in the ring, and run for the opportunity to represent us!

Some of course are very excited with the result, while others are extremely disappointed.

Our hats off to those who were elected and our hearts go out to those who didn’t make it.

The votes have been cast and the people have spoken. And now it’s time to stop the campaigning and put aside the negatives and begin to work together with those who have been chosen to represent us.

It’s time to unite for the common good of our little community that we call Newtown.

Let’s work together so that it will continue to be “Nicer in Newtown.”

Again, thanks again to the candidates who chose to run and give us an opportunity for choice. And thank you to those who went to the polls to make your choice for your candidate.
