To the Editor:

Across the nation police departments are going through difficult challenges and turmoil. I so appreciate our police department in Newtown as they serve and protect us with high standards, integrity, and the trust of the community.

The integrity and good decisions of the police commission are vital for that to continue. I am pleased to endorse Brian Budd as candidate for police commissioner. As a police officer for 27 years, and as having previously served on the Police Commission and as someone who cares deeply about doing the right things for our town, I trust Brian to serve with excellence.

Please join me by voting for Brian Budd for police commissioner on November 2.
