Present District Deputy
Albert R. Thierfelder of New Milford will be formally presented as district deputy for the Second Masonic District of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Connecticut at 2 pm, Sunday, May 4, at Ashlar of Newtown.
All Masons, families, and friends are invited to attend this public ceremony.
Mr Thierfelder was named to this high Masonic office by Clifford F. Stamm, II, grand master of Masons of Connecticut. The appointments became effective April 2 during the 214th Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Connecticut, held at the Hartford Marriott Farmington.
George S. Greytak, grand senior warden of the Grand Lodge of Connecticut, will preside over the afternoon program, assisted by Robert B. Burden, district deputy, District 2A, of the Grand Lodge of Connecticut. Mr Stamm, along with several other Grand Lodge officers, both past and present, will be in attendance.
Mr Thierfelder will supervise the operations of the five Masonic Lodges in District 2B, which include King Solomonâs #7, Woodbury; Hiram Lodge #18, Sandy Hook; Ark Lodge #39, Bethel; Union Lodge #40, Danbury; and Eureka Lodge #83, Bethel, He was appointed to replace George C. Perry of Brookfield and was honored with the title of past district deputy.
Mr Thierfelder is semiretired after a career in microbiological research and quality control manager in the medical device and the food and drug industry. He presently serves as a substitute teacher at New Milford High School.
He received the degree of master mason in 1972 at St Peterâs Lodge #21, New Milford. He was worshipful master of St Peterâs Lodge #21 in 1979, secretary from 1994 to 1998. He is secretary of St Peterâs Temple Association and has served on numerous committees at St Peterâs Lodge. He has served the Grand Lodge of Connecticut as associate grand marshal, District 2A in 2001â2002 and is currently serving on the Grand Lodge Committee of Strategic Planning, on the committee establishing a new DeMolay Chapter in Sandy Hook.
Also on May 4, Hugh Busby of Kent and John Stack of Southbury will be presented to the post of associate grand marshals. Mr Busby received his degree of master mason in 1996 at St Lukeâs Lodge #48, Kent. He currently is serving his second year as worshipful master of St Lukeâs #48. He will be associate grand marshal in District 2A, assisting Robert Burden, district deputy of District 2A. District 2A includes Montgomery Lodge #7, Lakeville; St Peter #21, New Milford; St Lukeâs #48, Kent and Housatonic #61, Canaan. Mr Stack received the degree of master mason in 1993 at King Solomonâs Lodge #7, Woodbury. He served as worshipful master of King Solomonâs Lodge #7 in 2002. He will be associate grand marshal in District 2B, assisting Mr Thierfelder.
