To the Editor:

I wanted to write to you and let you know how great our bus driver is.

My daughter is a kindergartener at Hawley and really enjoys her rides with Mr George (what he has affectionately said the kids can call him). The bus is filled with lots of energetic, enthusiastic students and George takes it all in stride. He is always sincere, kind, soft spoken, and demonstrates an abundance of patience. This is such an unprecedented time for bus drivers. They have always had a demanding and important job, but in no other year is it more apparent just how essential bus drivers are.

Thank you, George, for your dedication. And thank you to all bus drivers: for going through all the background checks, for maintaining your licenses, for driving safely, and for demonstrating professionalism all the while. Thank you for driving in the dark, in the rain, under loud noise, and challenging conditions. You are so, so appreciated.
