Lecture Series Scheduled At Library
Lecture Series Scheduled At Library
The public is invited to attend a series of college caliber lectures this spring â with no papers to write, exams to take, or tuition to pay â when Dr Mark Schenker, a dean at Yale College, will lead a lecture series on âLiterature and Lifeâ at the C.H. Booth Library.
The series will focus on the relationship between literature and life, and is designed for the literate reader who seeks more than pleasure or escapism from literature, but who is not a professional critic or literary practitioner. The series will begin March 17, with an introduction on the varied roles literature plays in our lives. On April 14, Dr Schenker will focus on the works of Charles Dickens, and those of James Joyce on April 28. All programs are scheduled from 7 to 8 pm, in the libraryâs meeting room.
Dr Schenker is a knowledgeable lecturer, able to communicate his passion and understanding of great works of fiction.
