Newtown Historical Society is planning a tag sale for Saturday, October 2, from 10 am to 3 pm, with a rain date of Sunday, October 3.

The sale will be on the front lawn of The Matthew Curtiss House, 44 Main Street.

No early birds. The sale will offer a mix of old and new items.

Any unvaccinated guests are expected to wear a facemask. Social distancing measures will be in place for all.

Organizers are currently seeking donations for the event, anything except clothing or large pieces of furniture.

Donations can made either by advance arrangement with Patricia Clark, who will scheduled deliveries to her home or The Matthew Curtiss House. Contact Clark at 203-788-3258 or willowmoor@att.net to make arrangements.

Final donations can also be dropped off at the Matthew Curtiss House the morning of the tag sale, by 9:30 am, but those items must be priced upon arrival.

Volunteers are also needed to help with the tag sale, for its planned date or rain date if needed.

The majority of the help is needed between 9:30 and 10:30 am and then 2:30 and 3:30 pm. Anyone interested in volunteering should also contact Clark.
