Newtown Represented In New Britain Museum Of American Art Annual Juried Exhibition
NEW BRITAIN — A Newtown painter is among the artists whose work is featured in “Nor’easter: The 51st Annual Juried Exhibition,” which opened this week at the New Britain Museum of American Art (NBMAA).
This event is the museum’s annual juried members exhibition. It is NBMAA’s opportunity to share contemporary visual arts with a wide audience. This prominent Northeastern showcase highlights exceptional work of emerging and established artists in all media.
Roberta Shea’s painting, “Sylvan Shiver,” was among the 65 pieces accepted into the exhibition by curator Cristina Tafuri.
The exhibition is on view until August 29. It is being presented in the museum’s Stitzer and Vance galleries.
The museum, at 56 Lexington Street, is currently open Wednesday and Friday through Sunday, from 10 am to 5 pm; and Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm. Admission is $15 for adults and $12 for senior citizens; there is no charge for members.
NBMAA is also a Blue Star Museum, offering free admission to active members of the military and up to five of their family members from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
