Ethel H. Mullaney

Ethel Harkness Mullaney, 77, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., died December 24 in Florida. She was the wife of Ambrose Mullaney.

Mrs Mullaney was a former area resident and was a 1946 graduate of the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She worked as the school nurse at Newtown High School for many years and was honored in the 1969 yearbook, which was dedicated in her honor. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in New Smyrna Beach.

Besides her husband Ambrose, she is survived by a son, Bryan Mullaney of Pennsylvania, two daughters, Karen Mann of Connecticut and Beth DeBruin of Massachusetts; a sister, Barbara Cleveland of Florida; and four grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32119.

After cremation in Florida, a graveside service will take place at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury, on Monday, January 5, at 1:30 pm.

The Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division Street, Danbury, is handling local arrangements.
