DANBURY — The Gallery at Still River Editions is celebrating the ten-year anniversary of its rebranding with an exhibition featuring works of some of the many artists who have been shown there.

The digital exhibition is on view at the gallery through Friday, December 17.

The exhibition includes work in a range of media by artists including Lisa Berger, Paul Berger, and Caroline Harman, all of Newtown.

Other featured artists include David Blackett (Falmouth, Maine), Colin Burke (New Haven), Joy Bush (Hamden), Lisa Cohen (South Salem, N.Y.), Phyllis Crowley (New Haven), Shona Curtis (New Preston), Chris Durante (Redding), William Frucht (Danbury), Daisy Gesualdi (Bethel), David Gesualdi (Bethel), Vito Gesualdi (Bethel), Gene Gort (Torrington), Cam Gould (Monroe), Keith Johnson (Hamden), Marcy Juran (Westport), Robert Kalman (Brewster, N.Y.), Ben Larrabee (Darien), Nancy Lasar (Washington, Conn.), Jeff Mueller (Hamden), Hasna Muhammad (Brewster, N.Y.), Tom Peterson (Hamden), James Rohan (Wakefield, Mass.), Kerri Sancomb (Hamden), and Tara Tomaselli (Bethel).

The Gallery at Still River Editions began its life in the late 1980s as part of Connecticut Photographics, a full service film-based photo lab. As the photographic industry became increasingly digital, Connecticut Photographics named its growing digital department Still River Editions, and eventually decided to use that name to represent the business as a whole.

In 2011, Connecticut Photographics reintroduced its gallery The Gallery at Still River Editions with an inaugural exhibition featuring Keith Johnson and Mark Savoia (who co-owns Still River Editions with Catherine Vanaria). Johnson and Savoia had both received artist grants from the Connecticut Office of the Arts in 2010.

The gallery has since hosted up to four exhibitions a year featuring artists from Connecticut and beyond. While the focus is mainly on digital and traditional prints of photographs and artwork, the gallery has expanded its offerings to original paintings and drawings as well.

In addition to solo and duo exhibitions, the gallery has also hosted group exhibitions, including the 2020 postcard exhibition “Wish You Were Here,” which featured postcard-sized images by 100 artists created during pandemic life.

The Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers was featured in two exhibitions at the gallery with different themes. Other group exhibition themes have included small works, music photography, and celebrations of local artists.

The Gallery at Still River Editions is located at 128 East Liberty Street. It is open from 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, with the exception of some holidays; those planning to visit should check stillrivereditions.com before visiting. Current COVID guidelines are followed.
