Town offices will be closed Monday, July 5, the federal observance of Independence Day, which falls on Sunday this year.

Newtown Senior Center and C.H. Booth Library will both be closed.

Edmond Town Hall will be closed both days.

The transfer station will be closed Monday.

There will be no regular mail delivery/pickup or retail services for the United States Postal Service on Monday.

All Federal Reserve banks and branches (most banks) will also be closed on Monday.

Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles offices will be open on Friday, July 2, from 7:45 am until 12:30 pm, and closed on Saturday, July 3.

The Bee Publishing Company offices will be closed on Monday, July 5.

July 9 Deadlines

Real estate display ads are due by 10 am Friday, July 2, for the July 9 print edition.

Regular display (non-real estate) ads are due by Tuesday, July 6, at 10 am.

In-column real estate ads are due by noon Tuesday, July 6.

Regular classified ads will have their regular 1 pm Wednesday deadline that week.

Editorial deadlines for Friday, July 9, are not affected.
