Genealogy Club To Host Ancestry ProGenealogists Research Manager Via Zoom
The Genealogy Club of Newtown will hold a virtual meeting on Wednesday, June 9, at 7 pm. The speaker will be Kelly Barbano-Bodami presenting “New York Records 101.”

Barbano-Bodami is a professional genealogist who specializes in Italian Genealogy, focusing on the Italian diaspora to New York City. A native of New York, she has extensive expertise in New York City and New York State records.
Barbano-Bodami graduated from City University of New York-Baruch College with a BA in History and Sociology. Prior to transitioning to a career in genealogy, she worked in non-profit arts administration. She currently serves on the board of the Italian Genealogical Group as their historian.
She lives in Salt Lake City, where she is a research manager for Ancestry ProGenealogists.
“New York Records 101” will include a detailed overview of New York City and New York State Vital Records that will explore topics such as the history of vital records in New York, how to find and obtain records, what online resources are available, explanations of the differing record sets between the city and the state, and the evolution of the records over time.
