New Schedule For Booth Library’s Biggest Book Sale To Date
The Friends of the C.H. Booth Library 45th Summer Book Sale will kick off Friday, July 9, and run through Tuesday, July 13, at Reed Intermediate School, 3 Trades Lane.
Due to the pandemic, the sale was canceled last year, so the Friends will now offer more than 18 months’ worth of donated books, DVDs, jigsaw puzzles, games, and more. This year’s sale promises to be the biggest yet.
The five-day event is a major fundraiser for the town's library.
Donors and book sale patrons should take note of the new schedule for the sale and a new schedule for donations.
This year’s sale will follow a new schedule. Having traditionally been presented Saturday to Wednesday, the event this year will open on a Friday and continue the following Tuesday.
Friday, July 9, is being called a preview day. Admission is $40 per person, attendance is limited to 200 people, and ticket sales will begin at noon for the 1 pm opening.
Admission on Saturday, July 10, will be $5 for adults, free for ages 18 and under. The sale will run from 10 am until 5 pm that day.
Hours on Sunday are 10 am to 5 pm, and all items will be half-price; and on Monday, 10 am to 7 pm, and items are $5/provided bag.
Hours on Tuesday, July 13, the closing day of the 2021 Book Sale, will be 10 am to 1 pm. Any available inventory that day will be free of charge.
Facemasks will be required of all shoppers, and a contactless payment option will be available.
Final Donations June 12
The last day for donating items prior to the sale will be Saturday, June 12, from 10 am to noon, in the parking lot behind the library, Main Street. Donations can be dropped off on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 10 am to noon, through June 12. Collecting will be paused during the preparations for this year’s sale and will resume on July 21.
This hiatus in receiving donations will allow volunteers the time necessary to set up the book sale, which they expect to be larger than ever.
Any items left outside or inside the library or in the parking lot behind the library from July 13 through July 20 will be discarded. The Friends ask that donations are held until July 21, when they can be received once more.
