Thanks To The Head O’ Meadow Staff

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Head O’ Meadow School PTA, we would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to the women and men that make up the educational staff at our school.

As it is National Teacher Appreciation Week, it is a time to pause and reflect on the wonderful and difficult job our teachers perform. Starting with teaching our 5-year-olds how to form a straight line (no easy task to be sure) and to be confidently away from mom and dad for a few hours, all the way to creating writers and mathematicians by fourth grade. From mastering the new climbing wall, to creating inspiration from books, from encouraging our newest thespians and musicians, to the opportunity to be exposed to the world of art, our children are in good hands.

The accomplishments of our classroom teachers would not be possible without our dedicated resource and specialist professionals. We would be lacking to leave out a thank you to our school nurse, all of the paraprofessionals that support our teaching staff. Without all the behind-the-scene work and in-the-scene work they do, our children’s days would not run as smoothly as they do.

A school could not operate without its administrative team, and although Secretary’s Day has passed, the women behind the front desks deserve mention. All of this learning is done in a building tirelessly kept clean and functioning by our building staff, thanks to you as well. We cannot leave out the lunch ladies, you make life easier for many parents! This fantastic school would not be what it is without the leadership of Bill Bircher. His dedication to education, respect, and understanding of children and parents alike, and the tremendous support he provides to his staff make Head O’ Meadow the successful, safe, and stimulating environment that it is. Thank you all.

We would like to second Jackie Himmelfarb’s suggestion, if you have not done so already, please thank these people who take care of and teach your precious children.
