To the Editor:

What happened in New York and New Jersey at the beginning of last year didn’t stay in New York and New Jersey. The deadly coronavirus spread to Texas and Mississippi, and the entire nation. What will happen in Texas and Mississippi, will not stay there — for same reasons it didn’t stay in N.Y. and N.J.

Evidently, the governors of Texas and Mississippi are not concerned with the health and welfare of their citizens, and citizens of the entire nation when they tell their citizens they do not have to wear masks while their states are at high levels from the virus.

They know what happened when our former president, who must be mentally ill, not only didn’t require masks, but encouraged his devoted supporters not to wear them. As a result, millions of Americans have gotten ill, and hundreds of thousands of them have died, and are still getting ill and dying.

If we let these governors repeat the idiotic actions of our previous president, it will increase the amount of Americans again who will get ill and die here in Connecticut and the entire nation. If we do not try to stop them, then we are just as guilty as they are.

Our entire Nation must continue to wear masks until enough Americans are vaccinated, and we can control the virus with testing, and the life-saving vaccines we have now.
