The next meeting of The Genealogy Club of Newtown will be on Wednesday, May 13, in the meeting room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.

The meeting will begin promptly at 7 pm. For those with a “brick wall” or other problems with research, arrive early at 6:45 for assistance at the club’s Help Desk. Socializing will also take place prior to the meeting’s start.

Guest speaker for May will be Priscilla Wismar, a club member as well as an officer Newtown’s sister club in Southbury. Her presentation will be titled “Using Logic in Genealogy While Thinking Outside the Box.”

Mrs Wismar will explain how her process helped her discover some little know family lines, and how she was able to reach her goal.

Light refreshments will be served following the presentation. All are welcome.

For additional information call Bea Morgan at 203-304-1861 or Harlan Jessup at 203-426-3981.

Mr Jessup, a professional genealogist, is also present on most Monday afternoons 2 to 4 pm in the library’s Genealogy Room to assist with research.
