German Genealogy Research, April 13 With Newtown Club
The Genealogy Club of Newtown will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, April 13, in the meeting room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street in Newtown.
This month's guest speaker, Francoise Lampe, will present "German Genealogy Research."
In addition to researching her own French family roots, Ms Lampe has done extensive research on her husband's German ancestors. She will share her experience on researching both German and American online resources, and techniques used in overcoming some of the unique challenges of German genealogy.
Meeting begin promptly at 7, and all are welcome to join club members to arrive early to converse with others genealogists and enjoy some light refreshments.
In addition to monthly meetings, longtime member and professional genealogist Harlan Jessup is available on Monday afternoons between 2 and 4 pm for help with research. A dedicated computer in the library's Genealogy Room is available during library hours, to access Ancestry.com and other research sites.
