To the Editor:

The Affordable Care Act, health care insurance companies, and Medicaid have not been the answer to our health care problems in America, nor will public option being promoted by many doctors and their organizations.

Over 30 million Americans (including my son) are without healthcare coverage, and many more millions will be because of the pandemic. They either earn too much to qualify for Medicaid, or not enough to “afford” Affordable Care insurance.

All advanced and civilized countries of the world provide healthcare for all their citizens — now is the time, more than ever, that our government should provide healthcare for everyone in ours!

Unfortunately, our present president, and his Republican party are opposed in providing any kind of insurance — even Social Security, which has been so successful for nearly a century, and Americans do not want to see it end. And sadly, our future president still believes Obamacare can work.

Millions of Americans will not have healthcare coverage until the for-profit one-percenters who own healthcare insurance corporations control over our Congress and presidents is ended.
