A ‘Homestyle’ Annual Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast
The Newtown Rotary Club and Newtown Rotary Foundation will continue its legacy, hosting its 60th Annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, December 5. Even though the pancake breakfast may look slightly different, it is still about bringing the community together, sharing tradition, and raising money for community organizations.
Rather than canceling another fun community event, the Rotary Club of Newtown is asking residents to help keep this annual Newtown tradition alive, albeit in their own homes. By partnering with Sandy Hook’s Maple Craft Foods, the Newtown Rotary Club will sell pancake breakfast meal kits online at https://maplecraftfoods.com/rotarypancake. Meal kit and syrups would also make great holiday gifts.
The discount code ‘ROTARYPANCAKE’ must be used at the time of checkout. Forty percent of all proceeds will go to the Rotary’s Community Giving and Local Scholarship Funds.
“Our look this year may be different, but the goals remain the same: To continue with a well-loved tradition, bring families and community together, and raise money to help support our local organizations,” stated Alex Villamil, president-elect, Newtown Rotary Club.
The Rotary Club will keep community participation as the heart of this event by hosting a photo contest on both its Facebook page and Instagram (@NewtownCTRotaryClub) for favorite pictures of meals, families, and of course, pancakes. Use hashtag #RotaryPancake.
Online sales begin on Friday, November 6, and run through Thursday, December 3, at 11:59 pm, EST.
While other delivery options are available, on Saturday, December 5, a curbside pick-up option is offered at the Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson Street, staffed by Rotarians and their families, from 9 am to noon.
The Newtown Rotary Club, a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, has been active in the Newtown community since 1939 and consists of volunteers who provide community services in many ways throughout the year. Providing oversight of the fund is by members of the Newtown Rotary Club and Newtown Rotary Foundation.
