In the recent V-USBands Remo Invitational Challenge, the Newtown Marching Band & Guard improved its score to an 87.42, placing third in an expanded group of fourteen band and guard ensembles across the Unites States.

This past Saturday, October 24, the Newtown Marching Band & Guard took to the field to film a performance for the Connecticut State Championships. The group will receive the results from that competition later this week.

NHS Director of Bands Kurt Eckhardt said, after that performance, “This was your strongest performance to date. I am very proud of your efforts and excited with the progress this season. It is amazing what this band and guard team has done this year with such limited rehearsal opportunities, and I’m looking forward to seeing you perform at nationals next weekend.”
