Christensen has lived in Sandy Hook for more than 25 years. She has gardened since childhood, in several states and across numerous planting zones.

Christensen became a certified master gardener in 2015 and an advanced master gardener in 2017.

Since 2010, she has been writing professionally, blogging as the Suburban Farmgirl for the internationally published organic lifestyle website MaryJanesFarm. In addition, she teaches knitting classes, is an avid antiques collector, a “vintage glamper,” and raises backyard chickens.

Loving all things creative, Christensen considers her life’s motto to be “bloom where you are planted.”
