Ballaro Dance is returning to Appleberry Farm, 8 Zoar Road, Sandy Hook, Saturday, September 12, for a COVID-friendly event at the farm. All events are free and open to the public; pre-registration ensures the ability to follow social distancing protocols.

1:45 pm - 2:15 pm | MOVE: Magical Garden Creatures Come Alive

Dancers ages 10-16 are invited to a guided improvisation session in the garden with our cellist, Rob. Participating students must have a supervising adult nearby. Closed-toe shoes required.

2:30 pm - 3:30 pm | Site-Specific Pop-Up Performances

Movement to music by Boston-based cellist Rob Bethel will fill the farm with beauty. Wander and enjoy nature, or find a seat to watch the dancers. Performances will be ongoing; please social distance as you enjoy the live art. (No registration required.)

4 pm - 5 pm | MOVE: Yoga With Nicole

5:30 pm - 6:30 pm | Site-Specific Installation in the Field

BYO-blanket/lawn chair & picnic to enjoy while watching a new dance/technology collaboration developed throughout the pandemic while in quarantine the past five months. Ballaro Dance will premiere Episode #1 of our new YouTube series as part of this performance.

Appleberry Farm will have floral arrangements and farm fresh eggs available for purchase, as well as other goodies made by local artisans. BYO-picnic, pack a blanket or lawn chairs, and make yourself at home on the farm. Registration requested for events by Wednesday, September 9.
