The Newtown United Methodist Church (NUMC) hosted a Curbside BBQ Dinner on the evening of Saturday, August 22.

People who placed an order in advance received a pickup time and were instructed to drive their vehicle to the lower parking lot of the church where Antoinette Mancini would bring out their packed food.

Mancini said almost a hundred dinners were ordered and that the menu included half a BBQ chicken, cornbread, coleslaw, potato salad, and a brownie.

Outside the church, Dennis Bloom staffed the grill, while in the kitchen area, Ellie Lewis, Barbara Bloom, June Bryan, Lori Rothe, and Candice Rothe prepared all the meals.

Proceeds made from the dinner went to benefit NUMC.
