June 1 Chamber Leaders Forum ‘Checking In... On Reopening’
After taking a well-deserved break to celebrate the Memorial Day holiday, the Newtown Chamber of Commerce is back with Andy Sachs hosting the next Newtown Leaders forum at 5:30 pm on Monday, June 1.
The subject of the live webcast — co-sponsored by The Newtown Bee — will serve as a check-in with two local business owners, as well as several town officials, as some Newtown public facilities and businesses move through phased re-openings.
The live forum will be captured through the Zoom web application and originate from Sach’s Your Connecticut Realtor — Andy Sachs Facebook page. It will simultaneously e-shared/streamed on The Newtown Bee’s Facebook site — www.facebook.com/TheNewtownBee/ — as well as the Facebook pages serving event co-sponsors:
Chamber of Commerce of Newtown, Inc;
Newtown Economic Development Commission;
The Around Town Team - Top 1% Selling Real Estate Team;
eFriend Marketing; and
Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (SHOP).
The June 1 webcast will include input from Chamber President Scott Anders, and will feature First Selectman Dan Rosenthal, Police Chief James Viadero, Parks & Recreation Director Amy Mangold, Katherine Hansen of Newtown Salt Spa, and Ryan Broderick, Managing Member & Co-founder of Reverie Brewing Company.
Town officials are expected to reflect on happenings around town as both business and municipal and recreational facilities either fully or partially reopened in recent days, while the business owners relate their own experiences with viewers who are invited to ask questions.
Viewers may type questions on the Facebook page as they watch, or submit questions/comments in advance by e-mail at helenbrickfield@newtown-ct.com.
The Monday webcast will be monitored by Sachs who will share submitted questions or comments posted during the event on his two Facebook sites. Helen Brickfield of the Chamber will also be monitoring the feed and passing on any comments made by those viewing the Chamber’s Facebook site.
