Lunch & Learn, BP Screening
At Masonicare
A move to a smaller home or retirement community appeals to many seniors. But what do you do with all that âstuffâ youâve accumulated over the years? A free Lunch and Learn Program for the community titled âDownsizing for Seniorsâ will be held Monday, September 14, at Masonicare at Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Road. Lunch will be served at noon, and the program will begin at 12:15 pm in the Lodge Room.
Denise Gamache from Masonicare at Home will provide advice and insights to help start the daunting process of downsizing. From consigning to charitable donations, she will discuss sorting, saving, and selling strategies and options.
Masonicare at Newtown sponsors the Lunch and Learn series to provide the public with important and timely health and wellness information. Masonicare at Home, a program of Masonicare Home Health, provides homemakers and personal care assistants for those who need assistance with routine homemaking tasks.
There is no fee for the program, but seating is limited. Reservations can be made by calling the Masonicare HelpLine at 888-679-9997.
In other news, the Masonicare at Newtown Nursing Department will sponsor a free blood pressure screening Tuesday, September 15, from 10 am to noon, in the Lockwood Lodge Wellness Center at Masonicare at Newtown.
The screening will be conducted by a licensed nurse. Remember, you can have high blood pressure and still feel fine.
