A Delightful Springtime Weekend — No Matter What

The beautiful weather the weekend of April 4-5 found residents happy to find a way to let others know that they were thankful for them and anything being done to help the community deal with the COVID-19 crisis. Colorful chalk drawings around town were meant to leave messages of hope and humor, as well.

Springtime was irrepressible, thumbing its nose at any virus with a blanket of color spread over the community. Redbuds display pink blossoms, magnolias hover on the brink of flowering, forsythia and daffodils brighten the landscape in brilliant yellow. Carpets of crocuses, snowdrops, and vinca paint the scene.

As always, Newtown puts on a good face in dealing with adversity.

This Taunton Hill Road residence found a way to say thanks to those who passed by.
Nature still loves Newtown, as this heart, exposed when a limb was sawed off, expresses.
A funny face on Scudder Road cheered up anyone who passed that way this weekend.
A bank of daffodils at the Great Hill Road entrance to the Holcombe Preserve Memorial Trail is a bright welcome.
