Running The Good Race

To the Editor:

Congratulations to Chris Lyddy and DebraLee Hovey on their reelection to the Connecticut House of Representatives.

It was my pleasure to be able to participate in this year’s election. I ran because I thought it was important to give the people of Newtown a choice and a voice. Our short campaign succeeded in this regard and aired the economic and fiscal issues facing our state.

I thank all of the citizens of Newtown who voted and whose voice was heard. I also thank the hundreds of people who were involved or supported our campaign effort. It was always more about you than it was me. My thanks go to Chris for running a good race and for his continued service in the state legislature.

Chris and DebraLee both have my best wishes as they grapple with the incredible challenges they will face in restoring Connecticut’s economic vibrancy.
