The high school basketball postseason continues tonight, Monday, March 2. Newtown High School's girls' team will host Cheshire in the Class LL state tournament's opening round at 6:30 pm.

Newtown's boys' South-West Conference tourney semifinal-round visit to Immaculate of Danbury, originally scheduled for March 2, has been rescheduled to be played on Tuesday, March 3; tip is at 7 pm. The winner will play in the championship game, still scheduled for Thursday, March 5 at 7 pm (location to be determined).

On the ice, Newtown's hockey team will face Sheehan in the conference tourney semifinals on March 3. The game will be held at Milford Ice Pavilion at 6 pm. The winner will compete in the championship game at Bennett Rink in West Haven on Friday, March 6; faceoff at 8:15 pm.
