Bereavement Group, at the offices of the Newtown Parent Connection, 2 Washington Square, Fairfield Hills, 7-8:30 pm, the first Wednesday of the month. A compassionate venue for those who have lost a child or loved one to substance abuse or a catastrophic circumstance. This meeting is facilitated by a licensed therapist. The Heart of Men Circle, at Sticks and Stones Farm, 197 Huntingtown Road; meet in parking lot at 6:45 pm and catch a ride to the top of the mountain where the outdoor meeting takes place; second Wednesday of the month. Connect with other men in an outdoor setting; even though we will be around a fire, please dress weather appropriate. Lyme Connection, a tickborne disease patient support group for patients and loved ones, on the second Thursday of each month, from 5 to 7 pm. The free sessions are in the Lyme Connection offices in the Town Hall Annex at 66 Prospect Street, in Ridgefield. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), for family members of those with mental illness, second Thursday of each month, 6:30 to 8 pm, at Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church, 207 Main Street, Ridgefield, open to all Fairfield County residents; contact Marc at 203-940-2516.

Support For Friends & Family of Alzheimer’s patients (and related dementias), at Jewish Federation of Western Connecticut, 444 Main Street North in Southbury, second Thursday of each month, 10:30 am, no charge for this open and ongoing group that helps participants develop methods and skills to solve problems, caregivers encouraged to maintain their own personal, physical and emotional health, as well as optimally care for the person with dementia, facilitated by Alzheimer’s Association volunteer.
