Grace E. Lewis

Danbury Resident

Grace E. Lewis, 89, of Danbury died at Danbury Hospital September 1. Mrs Lewis was born in Danbury, January 1, 1918, daughter of John and Margaret (Visokay) Pearl.

She is survived by three daughters, Lou Ann Chevalier of Newtown, Barbara Lewis of New Jersey, and Patricia Heath of Danbury; two sons, Harold Lewis, Jr of Florida and John Heath; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Reed; a brother, John Pearl, who died during World War II; and a sister, Louise Joyce.

Mrs Lewis attended Danbury schools and was a lifetime Danbury resident. She had worked for many years as a cook for St Peter Church Rectory and Convent and then for St Gregory the Great Church Rectory.

Funeral services were held at Green Funeral Home in Danbury on September 4. Interment was private.
