As of February 1, 2020, the price of an obituary in the print and/or online edition of The Newtown Bee will increase to $40. Obituaries with photograph will be $60.

The cost of placing a memorial in The Newtown Bee will increase to $20.

Obituaries are accepted only for those who were current Newtown/Sandy Hook residents at the time of death; were former residents of Newtown/Sandy Hook; or for those with immediate relatives (children, parents, spouses, siblings) currently living here.

Obituaries must be submitted by a funeral home or family member directly to alissa@thebee.com or delivered to the office at 5 Church Hill Road during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Family submissions must include daytime contact information and billing information/address if submitted by e-mail; or payment must accompany submission.

Deadline for obituaries is Thursday, 9:30 am, for publication in that week’s edition of The Newtown Bee.

A FREE death notice listing, only for those who resided in Newtown/Sandy Hook at time of death, is available by mailing deceased’s name, place of residence, brief funeral information, and date of death to alissa@thebee.com or delivering to the 5 Church Hill Road office no later than Thursday, 9:30 am, for publication in that week’s edition of The Newtown Bee.
