The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will present its Color in Winter Art Show & Sale from January 3 until February 28 at Newtown Municipal Center.

The annual exhibition is open to SCAN members only, offering them an opportunity to exhibit framed works of art available for purchase.

Receiving will be Thursday, January 2, from 3 to 6 pm; January 3 will be the snow date, if needed.

The exhibition will then be on view weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm, as well as on evenings and weekends when Town boards and commissions meet or during special events.

The public is invited to an Artists’ Reception on Wednesday, January 22, from 3 to 4:30 pm.

The reception will follow a pastel demonstration by Shauna Shane, who will begin her program at 1:30. Both events are free of charge.
