Beloved Wife And Mother

Madeleine A. Eide, 55, beloved wife of Steven Eide of Newtown, died June 26, at Danbury Hospital, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Lachine, Quebec, Canada, on April 11, 1954, the daughter of Rene and Aline (Fontaine) Cyr of Pierrefonds, Quebec. When she was 14, she moved with her family to Bridgeport where she was a graduate of Warren Harding High School. A resident of Newtown since 1978, Mrs Eide’s passion was her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, music, prayer, and most of all her family.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs Eide is survived by her children, Catherine E. Hall and her husband, Andrew, Melissa S. Eide, and Christopher C. Eide, all of Newtown; three grandchildren, Tyler, Kaylee and Abygale Hall; a brother, Francois Cyr of California; and a sister, Robyn Medina of Bridgeport; and many other loving family members and friends.

Funeral services were held July 1. Interment followed in Newtown Village Cemetery.
