Please note that the incorrect deadline date for filing appeared in the print legal notice that was published in The Newtown Bee, October 11 and 25, 2019.

Pursuant to Section 12-40 of the Connecticut General Statutes, notice is hereby given that all persons conducting business in the Town of Newtown must file with the Assessor’s Office a complete and accurate listing of all taxable personal [property] used in the conduct of that business.

Such filing is to take place on or before November 1, 2019. Persons failing to file by that date are subject to a 25 percent penalty added to their assessment. An extension of 45 days may be granted for good cause upon request.

Taxable personal property shall include (but is not limited to): unregistered motor vehicles, industrial machinery/equipment, commercial furniture/fixtures/equipment, data processing equipment, farm machinery/equipment, leased equipment... etc.
