America Recycles Day

DANBURY – The third annual America Recycles Day celebration will be held on the Danbury Green on Sunday, October 17, from 11 am to 3 pm. 

The event will include live musical entertainment for the entire family and recycled arts and crafts projects for children.  The Housatonic Resource Recovery Authority, which is sponsoring the event, also is organizing the collection of used residential computers and television sets. These items will be refurbished and used in the Danbury Even Start Family Literacy Program and Harambee’s after school youth program.

Staff and students from the Western Regional Adult and Continuing Education (WERACE) and Harambee’s are organizing students from adult education, local high schools, and after school programs to refurbish the computers.
