Anthem Sponsors Caregiver Seminar

SOUTHBURY — Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is sponsoring a “Caring for the Caregivers” seminar on Wednesday, September 19, from 1:30 to 3 pm at the Southbury Town Hall.

The seminar will begin with a panel discussion that will focus on “Dealing with Stress,” presented by Waterbury Hospital; “The Physical Challenges of Being a Caregiver,” presented by St Mary’s Hospital; “Legal Issues,” presented by Connecticut Legal Services; and “Respite Care,” presented by New Opportunities of Waterbury.

A roundtable, featuring representatives from area agencies and organizations, will follow the panel discussion. The roundtable will include discussions of assisted living facilities, companion programs, and a wide variety of other issues surrounding aging. A question-and-answer session will follow.

After the seminar, attendees can visit several resource booths that will offer educational material and information about arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
