Yankee Fair & Teddy Bear

Parade Returns Oct. 16

BROOKFIELD – The Congregational Church of Brookfield will host its 30th annual Yankee Fair on Saturday, October 16, from 10 am to 3 pm. Grandma’s Attic and Collectibles Cottage will open one hour earlier, at 9 am.

The theme this year is “A Teddy Bear Country Fair,” celebrating teddy bears. Visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy bears in all shapes and sizes, new and old, at a special teddy bear exhibit. Children should bring their favorite teddy bear, which will allow them to participate in a Teddy Bear Parade at 11 am and 2 pm.

The fair will offer handcrafted items in Christmas, quilting, wood shop, garden and stitchery booths. Other offerings will include a tag sale called Grandma’s Attic, a cottage of collectibles with some antiques, a used books booth and a used toys booth.

Live music and a clown, face painting and games, and lunch selections will also be available.

The WestConn Campus Ministry and Hanahoe Children’s Clinic will be the benefactors of half the fair proceeds.
