Health & Safety Fair At The Danbury Mall

DANBURY — Danbury Hospital will conduct a Family Health & Safety Fair at the Danbury Fair Mall on Friday and Saturday, September 30 and October 1. The health fair will be conducted on the mall’s lower level from noon to 8 pm both days.

The Family Health & Safety Fair features health education regarding cancer detection and prevention programs sponsored by The Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital. Screenings to be conducted include blood pressures, pulmonary function, cholesterol, glucose, and a Dermascan (facial skin damage) screening.

Staff from the Danbury Visiting Nurse Association will be offering flu vaccinations.

Danbury Hospital health care professionals also plan to provide health information regarding asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sleep disorders, nutrition and diabetes counseling, trauma prevention, and children’s safety.

 There also will be wellness information regarding women’s health, pregnancy and prepregnancy planning, newborn care, breastfeeding and formula feeding supported by staff from the Family Birth Center and the Danbury Doula program.

Prudential Financial will sponsor a free “ID A Kid” fingerprints program.
