St Rose School Inducts Members Into Honor Society
St Rose of Lima School held an induction ceremony for 11 new middle school members of the National Junior Honor Society. The St Rose chapter has become quite active in the past year.
Members of the society are required to maintain a high academic standing as well as demonstrate superior citizenship, leadership, and community service. Currently the St Rose chapter is launching a Safety First program, which includes educating the younger members of the school about safety and selling emergency safety kits throughout the community. The proceeds of the sales will be donated to the newly created school scholarship fund and to the Newtown Hook and Ladder Fire Department. The scholarship fund is intended to assist students who have financial needs. The students wanted to show their support to the Hook and Ladder crew by helping them with their current fundraising program to improve their facility and to honor the memory of St Rose friend and Hook and Ladder volunteer, Bernie Klaus.
