Bennett H.   Short, Jr

Bennett H. Short, Jr, 60, died September 10, at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, N.H.

Born in Hartford on July 22, 1943, he was the son of Bennett H., Sr, and Louise (Hoyt) Short.

Besides his wife, Marilyn E. (Bonnie), of Moultonboro, he is survived by two sons, Bennett H. Short, III, of Salem, N.H., and Robert C. Short of Hollis, N.H.; one brother, David Short and his wife, Judy, of Newtown; one sister, Margaret Howe and her husband, Joseph, of Rockledge, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

He grew up in Bethel and graduated from Bethel High School, Class of 1961.

He attended Stetson University in Florida.

He resided in the Hollis area for many years and has been a resident of Moultonboro for only a couple of years.

He worked most all of his life as a computer software engineer and worked for the former SDC Co. in Santa Clara, Calif., for 12 years, for BAE Systems in Merrimack, N.H., for 15 years, and retiring from Weather Services International in Billerica, Mass.

He most recently was working as a real estate broker for Nash Reality in Meredith, N.H.

He was a member of the Congregational Church of Hollis in Hollis, the Lone Pine Gun Club of Hollis, and the Gun Owners of New Hampshire.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held in the Congregational Church of Hollis, in Hollis, N.H., on Saturday, September 27, at 10:30 am, with the Rev John Terry officiating. The Mayhew Funeral Home in Meredith in charge of the arrangements.
