John E.         Thompson
John E. Thompson, 77, husband of Marion (Cowan) Thompson of Walnut Tree Village, Sandy Hook, and formerly of Bethel, died April 20, at Ashlar of Newtown.
Mr Thompson was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., August 22, 1925, a son of the late John and Helen (Breen) Thompson. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, serving with the 981st Engineering Squadron.
For 38 years until his retirement, Mr Thompson was employed in various positions by the New York Telephone Company.
Mr Thompson was a resident of Bethel for 15 years, moving there from New York. He was a Mason for more than 50 years, first in New York, then with the Eureka Lodge in Bethel, and served as district deputy.
His only survivor is his wife.
A Masonic service will be conducted Thursday, April 24, at 8 pm, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
Entombment will be Friday at 10 am in Willbrook Cemetery Mausoleum, Westport.
Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 pm.
