50th Annual Bridgewater Fair

Following is a listing of the names of the local winners who participated in the 50th Bridgewater Fair, held the weekend of August 17-19 .

Fireman’s Parade Trophies

Best Appearing Fire Unit, Sandy Hook; Best Appearing Aerial, Newtown Hook & Ladder.

 

Vintage Tractor Pull

2500 Lbs Class: Fifth place, Rob Emmethal, M.H. Pacer, Newtown.

5500 Lbs Class: Third place, Norm Naggy, J.A. A, Newtown.

Senior Hobbies

John Zanesky of Newtown and John Kortze III of Sandy Hook earned second place honors.

Canning And Fresh Eggs

Best In Show and Judges’ Choice (Senior Division) went to Mary Ann Novaco of Sandy Hook for her Egg Arrangement. Mrs Novaco also won Judges’ Choice/Senior Canning for her carrot jam, and first place honors for her carrot jam, egg arrangement and pickled vegetables.

Dairy

Novice Showmanship: Stacy Sulivan; Junior Showmanship/Overall Showman: Katlyn Hoskinson; Intermediate Showman: Josh Tanner; Senior Showman: Elizabeth Tanner; Best Of All Breeds: John Pollard with his three-year-old Holstein.

Needlework

Division I Class B: third place, Kay Epp of Sandy Hook; Division II Class 3, fourth place, Kay Epp of Sandy Hook.

Division V Class 2: Third place, Theresa Tavares of Sandy Hook.; Division VI, Third place, Kay Epp of Sandy Hook.

Division VII Class 5: Second place, Kay Epp of Sandy Hook. Division X, Class 2: Second place, Lynn Willie of Newtown.

Vegetable And Fruit Winners

Senior Division

Frank Fuchs, Newtown: Peaches.  Mary Ann Novaco, Sandy Hook: Vegetable arrangement.
