Tour The Pond At White Memorial In Litchfield

LITCHFIELD — The Lillinonah Audubon Society is sponsoring a trip to Little Pond at White Memorial Park in Litchfield on Saturday, July 3l.

Guide Martha Cushman will identify the plants and Lillinonah Audubon Society Vice-President Carolyn Longstreth will be the bird expert. Walkers will be on the lookout for aquatic plants in bloom as well as herons, marsh birds, warblers, and other songbirds with young.

The group will meet at 8:30 am in the lower parking lot at Bent-of-the-River Audubon Center, East Flat Hill Road in South Britain, off I-84 at Exit 14.

Participants will need walking shoes and a hat, as well as binoculars, insect repellent, water, and a snack. Heavy rains will cancel the trip.
