Friday Morning Connect-Ed Phone Calls Were Not Typical

Phone calls that went out to parents and students last Friday morning to inform them of the school district canceling school due to inclement weather will not be happening in the future.

December 19 was the first time the Connect-ED phone system, which makes automated phone calls to parents to inform them of early dismissals or other hindrances in the school schedule, went out on a districtwide level, but it was a error.

Parents and students will not be receiving phone calls when school is canceled or delayed. Superintendent of Schools Janet Robinson said parents and students should still pay attention to things like weather stations, news stations or websites to learn about any cancellations or delays in the school day.

If parents wish to take their name off of the list for phone calls about late buses, early dismissals, or other the reasons the system will be used in the future, they can call or email the school their child attends.
