All town offices and agencies will be closed from noon on Wednesday, December 31, to 8 am on Friday, January 2, for the New Yearâs holiday.
C.H. Booth Library will be closing at 1 pm on New Yearâs Eve, and will remain closed on Thursday, January 1. It will reopen at 11 am Friday.
Newtown Senior Center will close after lunch on December 31 and remain closed all day January 1. It will reopen on January 2.
The transfer station at the former landfill on Ethan Allen Road will close at 11 am on December 31 and will reopen at 7 am on January 2.
The public schools will remain closed until January 5.
The offices of The Bee will be open on December 31, but closed January 1. We will reopen Friday, January 2. Deadlines for the January 2 will be affected by the holidays. Everything will be due 24 hours earlier than normal.
