SHU Offers Freshman Laptops
FAIRFIELD â Sacred Heart University officially welcomed the Class of 2007 to campus on Saturday, August 30 with a class of 823 students hailing from 34 states and selected from the largest number of applicants in the universityâs history.
The newest class members heard welcoming remarks from Dr Thomas Forget, academic vice president, who challenged the class to constantly reach for personal growth academically, socially, and spiritually.
All SHU freshmen also received new, state-of-the-art Dell laptops. A totally wireless campus environment, Sacred Heart was the first university in Connecticut to provide all its undergraduates with laptops.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year with the theme, â40 Years of Pioneering Excellence,â Sacred Heart University is an independent, comprehensive, coeducational institution of higher learning and the first Catholic university in the United States to be led and staffed by lay people.
