A Night Of Magic At Scholarship Book
A Night Of Magic At Scholarship Book
It should prove to be a night of magic for those attending the annual NSA Ball this year. This year the Ball will be held on Saturday, October 21, and the new location for the event will be the Heritage Inn in Southbury.
The gala evening will begin with cocktails at 7 pm and will be followed by a sit-down dinner at 8, dancing to the Bob Button Orchestra, and a silent auction with an array of exciting gifts. The Bob Button Orchestra, âSouthern Connecticutâs finest band,â is well known for its authentic swing music, and guests will hear the music of Tommy Dorsey, Glen Miller, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and all the old favorites, as well as more contemporary music.
This event is one of the Newtown Scholarship Associationâs major fundraising efforts, and the NSA encourages the community to support it by attending the Ball. In existence since 1937, the NSA has awarded almost $2 million since its establishment, and each year it awards over 60 scholarships totaling more than $150,000 to June graduates and as continuing aid to undergraduate students.
Tickets for the NSA Ball are $180 per couple ($80 tax deductible) and $250 for a patron ($155 tax deductible) and may be obtained by calling Carol Gabarino at 426-7713.
