Danbury Hospital Schedules Fall Medical Town Meetings

DANBURY — “My Aching Shoulder — What Can I Do?” will be the topic for discussion at the first of three Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meetings that will be conducted during the month of October. The program takes place on Tuesday, October 11.

Featured speakers are orthopedic surgeons J. Albert Diaz, MD, Michael Brand, MD, and Ross Henshaw, MD. Doctors Brand and Henshaw also are practicing physicians at Danbury Orthopedic Associates; Dr Diaz at Brookfield Orthopedic Associates. They will address the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder problems due to sports injuries, the aging shoulder, rotator cuff injury, and surgical repair.

A second Medical Town Meeting discusses “Make Your Next Step a Good One — Modern Concepts in Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery,” and takes place on Tuesday, October 18.

Orthopedic surgeons Robert Deveney, MD, Daniel Fish, MD, and Craig Foster, MD, all attending physicians in the Danbury Hospital Department of Surgery Section of Orthopedics, will discuss computer-assisted and minimally invasive surgical advancements in hip and knee replacement surgery.

Doctors Deveney and Foster are practicing physicians at Danbury Orthopedic Associates, and Dr Fish is a practicing physician at Brookfield Orthopedic Associates.

“Breast Cancer — From Diagnosis to Treatment” is the topic to be addressed at the third Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meeting on Tuesday, October 25, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Board certified physician experts from the Danbury Hospital Breast Tumor Board will present the latest information regarding the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, and why early detection through screening is key.

Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meetings take place in the John C. Creasy Center for Health Education auditorium at Danbury Hospital from 7 to 8:30 pm. Park free in the Blue Visitor’s parking lot, Hospital Avenue entrance.
